Software Engineering Lead – VMF

 The VMF Remarketing and Originations Tech Team is looking for a Software
Engineering Lead. As the Software Engineering Lead, your time will be
focused on developing your team members to be the best Software Engineers
they can be while also creating an efficient atmosphere for implementing,
enhancing, and supporting the technologies critical to our business
partners. As a team, we recognize that strong software engineering
practices and automation are required to be successful in the long run. As
a member of an agile scrum team, you will play the role of player coach,
leading by example for your team and providing input that will be critical
to setting the direction for the future software projects and
implementations.

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership for his/her team and actively mentor team members on
skill development

Create learning plans and offer career guidance for software engineers and
quality analysts

Work closely with the portfolio team for change and release management
activities

Software application design and development

Assist teams to modernize legacy solutions

Collaborate with software developers, architects, business analysts,
product owners, operations engineers, security, business representatives,
etc.

Conducts unit and integration testing.

High focus on automation to ensure high quality while minimizing long term
costs

Seek to find inefficiencies in the team’s process and take ownership of
remediation plans

Qualifications:

Has led, through influence or direct management accountability, development
teams creating custom applications and multi system integrations

Has strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Enjoys working with people and using technology to solve business problems

Has mentored other people in skills and career development

Demonstrates proficiency in a variety of the field’s concepts, practices,
and procedures

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

May provide consultation on complex projects and is a top-level
contributor/specialist

Prefer a bachelor’s degree or related experience in the system integration
development field

Domain driven design patterns

Data Modeling Practices and Principles

CI/CD patterns and tools

Microsoft .NET/.NET Core

Microsoft SQL Server

Coldfusion or RPG experience a plus

Collaboration tools like JIRA, Confluence, etc.

Experience writing technical design documents and estimating LOE

General project management practices
